Coffee House | Sheridan College
For years, the basement of the Student Commons Building at Sheridan College had a dingy series of rooms that served as a student snack bar. In order to make the area open and inviting, our firm completely redesigned the space.
Taking advantage of existing structural columns, a raised central platform was built, giving the room a focus that can be used as a dance floor or space for a band.
Now that the coffeehouse is a single large room, subtle space divisions create a variety of meeting environments, from six table areas to single stools at the new bar-style counter. Our clients at Sheridan College had little hope that the space would ever amount to much, but they were extremely pleased with the transformation.
Twenty-some years later, the space designed by Tim Belton and Steve Abel continues to serve the students in an upscale environment.
