Federal Courthouse

Constructed in 1933 as the main post office for Casper, Wyoming, the building had undergone many interior remodelings prior to 1988 when the General Services Administration commissioned our firm to design a completely remodeled interior of the 55,000 SF building to accommodate a new Federal Judicial District.  The project involved a remodeled main courtroom, a new secondary courtroom, judges’ chambers, administrative offices, and the Federal Marshal’s facility including jail cells.

In anticipation of the building’s eventual inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places, we went to great lengths to replace all the windows with energy efficient but completely accurate reproductions of the original decayed units.
