Sagebrush Elementary | Sheridan, Wyoming
This Sheridan elementary school was built to accommodate almost 400 children, kindergarten through fifth grade, in a rapidly growing newer area of town.
The classrooms have generous storage cabinets and work counters and wide windows for natural daylight. The interior and exterior walls are warm-toned brick for sound separation and low maintenance. Separate exterior entrances ease activity in the main halls and allow the 62,000 SF building to empty quickly.
A library, music and art rooms, and large playgrounds all create varied educational possibilities. In the multi-use gymnasium/auditorium, a raised stage gets the small performers up where they can be seen by the audience or gives parents watching sports a comfortable tiered vantage point.
