Peck Arts Center | Central Wyoming College
The performance space at the Robert A. Peck Art Center, at Central Wyoming College in Riverton, Wyoming has made it possible to showcase excellent educational and cultural opportunities to central Wyoming.
The 1,000 seat theater, with steep sight lines and carefully engineered acoustics, has become a mecca for local and traveling performances. Adjustable sound baffles suspended from the ceiling allow the seating capacity to be reduced to 500 for smaller performances. The music wing of the Arts Center features acoustically treated practice rooms, group performance studios, and a dance studio that can double as a black box theater. The lobby leading to the theater serves as a reception area and gallery space.
The theater is the central feature of the 65,000 sq. ft. building Malone Belton Abel designed in collaboration with Muchow Architects of Colorado. Tim Belton designed refinements and oversaw the construction of the Art Center in 1983.
